In December 2021, Mavenlink and Kimble Applications announced that the two companies successfully merged with a new CEO and in May 2022 the company was rebranded to Kantata. Actual was tasked with bringing together the two industry-leading companies to form the company’s new narrative that would catch the attention of technology trades. Previous media coverage for both organizations focused heavily on market and product news, resulting in a lack of diversity in media outlets and very few thought leadership pieces. The team faced the challenges head-on, identifying strategic storylines and unique narrative opportunities to drive added awareness and exemplify expertise.
Through expert storytelling and strategic outreach, Actual developed press materials to amplify Kantata’s new brand narratives and secure targeted media coverage. We also utilized third-party groups to gather data to establish credibility and provide first-party data in media outreach. Along with gaining coverage, we focused on the CEO’s voice to establish his presence in the industry.
Through a differentiated narrative, diversification of storylines, and Actual’s expert pitching, we secured more than 300 press stories, totaling over 1.2 billion media impressions. Sample story placements include top local, business and trade outlets, such as Fast Company, Forbes, CIO Dive, Benefits PRO, Thrive Global, Enterprise Times, Orange County Business Journal, Built In and ITPro Today, to name a few. The volume and resulting credibility from the press coverage further positioned the brand to land significant third-party validation including being recognized by Built In as a “Best Place to Work” and securing several spots on top software or enterprise solutions lists.
